Episode 7: Slowing Down Enough to Notice

Do you find it difficult to slow down, to take time for yourself, or simply do nothing? Do you feel like you need a good enough reason to stop?

When we live seasonally, we're invited to reorient ourselves in response to the changing energies of the seasons. As we move into autumn, the natural world invites us to slow down and turn inwards.

As I explored in the previous episode, The Descent, this can create space to notice what's happening beneath the surface of our lives. But also, sometimes slowing down is simply slowing down; rest is simply rest, along with an opportunity to enjoy the things that bring us pleasure.

In this episode, I reflect on our relationship with rest and the importance of making space for ourselves.

I also share a reading of John O'Donohue's poem A Blessing for One Who Is Exhausted, inviting you to notice what the words stir within you, followed by three reflective questions to help you consider how you might make more space for the simple things in life.

If you'd like to explore the Rest Reset programme I mention in this episode, you can find it on my website here.
